Help save Casper!
Casper

This is Casper, he is an absolute sweetheart who has life threatening injuries. He apparently got caught in a barbed wire fence, his neck, leg, side of his chest and his belly from his penis to between his front legs were ripped open. He was left in this condition, the owner was going to shoot him after a week of suffering, a neighbor stepped in and took him the Humane Society. There, he was taken to the Vet, (a special thank you to the Coulee Region Humane Society for all they did for him) he had gangrene in his belly wound and the Vet's had to remove a lot of skin and dead tissue from that area. When we got him, he had stitches on either side of his chest in which the bandages were laced up in to keep the would clean and moist. Through all of that he would lay there and let us work on him. When we took him into rescue we brought him to our rescue Vet, Dr Pat did an assessment and decided to try to sew him up. He has been at the Vet Clinic since, and there has been a set back as his stitches are loosening. He is now on wet to dry compresses until it starts scarring over. It could take months for it to heal and in the mean time he could have complications at any time. He will have to stay at the clinic until it starts scarring over. This boy is one awesome dog, no matter what we do to him (and it's a lot) he is gentle and kind, submitting to poking, prodding, stitching, lacing without complaint. He deserves every chance in the world to make a full recovery and go to a home that will treat him with love and respect. Please consider making a donation for his care, you can either use paypal (link below his pictures) or if you want, send a check to:

Animal House Pet Clinic (make check out to Animal House)

We have not included pictures of his injuries as they are very graphic and wouldn't want children to stumble onto them, if you would like to see pictures send an email to Nancy at calspence@aol.com. Even if you can't donate, please say a prayer that Casper will heal quickly. Thank you very much.

Rocky

This handsome guy is Rocky. He is a big, happy boy who likes balls, chew toys, and comfy dog beds. Rocky enjoys going for car rides and really looks forward to his daily walks. He is a smart boy who already knows sit and down. Rocky takes his treats gently and comes running when called. While he does get along with other large dogs, he would love a home where he could be the center of attention. His previous owners left him behind when they moved so he has some separation anxiety. Because he is very clumsy and does not know his own size, he should not go to a home with small children. Rocky does not do well with cats or small dogs. Can you give this great boy the secure forever home he's waiting for?

Max

Those wonderful bright eyes belong to Max, he came into rescue weighing in at 155 lbs, and he is now down to a sleek 108 lbs. Max is six years old and the victim of foreclosure. While he still needs to lose more weight he is looking and moving around so much better. When he came he could barely stand up, climb stairs or go for long walks. The vet diagnosed Max with food allergies and hypo-thyroid. He is on a special food and medication that cost pennies a day for his thyroid. Max gets along great with other dogs, people and is an all around good boy. He loves to cuddle and would make a great walking companion. He is a good watch dog but not a barker. Please consider giving Max a home with you, he will reward you with love and loyalty. If you think you might be interested in Max, please fill out the online application.

Alex

Alex is a young, 2 year old male White German Shepherd. He is neutered and UTD on all his shots. He is a happy fellow and is adjusting well in his foster home. This is what his foster dad has to say about Alex “He is extremely friendly to everyone. He is great around adults. We are still careful around children, but he seems to do well with them. Alex did great in his first foster home with other dogs, as long as the dogs are polite. We are not sure about cats. Alex loves to give kisses, is very playful and full of energy and is very strong. He loves car rides and will make someone a great companion". A fenced yard is recommended as he has selective hearing. Alex is still learning and will need continued training at his new home. Could you be that wonderful home he is looking for?? If you are interested in Alex or any other dog from the White Paws German Shepherd Rescue, please fill out the online application. If you have any questions please call Nancy at 920-606-2597 or email her at calspence@aol.com

Norman

Norman is a 5 year old male White GSD who is loved by everyone that meets him. His foster mom has this to say about him. "Norman is a neutered male, approximately 5 years old. He weighs in at about 95 pounds and is 100% love. He is a truly wonderful dog and has such a great temperament, he would do great in just about any home! He was transported to White Paws from West Virginia. When he arrived, he had patches of hair missing and the areas to his skin were very irritated. He has been undergoing antibiotic treatment as the areas are thought to be an allergic reaction from flee bites. His hair is growing back slowly, but surely in those spots and he is doing well! Norman is completely housebroken, up to date on all vaccinations and walks well on a leash. He does very well with kids and is a gently giant around them. He loves all the belly rubs he can get from the neighbor kids! He loves the other dogs at his foster home and has started playing with them more.... he's kind of lazy at times! He's been going to the dog park in order to get more exercise and he's been playing and running- although he prefers to stay by the people as he loves to be petted! He is a vocal guy and lets you know if he wants something- whether it's time for outside, dinner or just a little attention! He is a big sweetheart and just an overall great guy who deserves a great home! Could you be that home??"
